There was this one topic on GameFAQs that asked "If One of the "Big 3" [Wii games] Had to Be Cancelled, W[hat would you pick?]" The three games, of course, were Metroid Prime 3, Super Mario Galaxy, and Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Majority of the answers were Metroid. WTF? Of course, majority of them were fanboys who don't believe in 3D Metroids and hate the first-person perspective. Lamers. I'm also thinking that a lot of them were Smash Bros. fanboys since I saw few people voting for that to be canceled.
I personally would prefer Smash Bros. Brawl to be canceled (if it absolutely HAD to be). Why? From what we know, Brawl is going to play exactly like Melee. It won't even use the Wiimote or nunchuk. We've only heard that it will use the Gamecube controller. So it might as well be a Gamecube game, but we already have a Gamecube Smash Bros. game...a game called Melee. Brawl, from what we know, is going to be Melee with different characters (it hasn't even been confirmed if it'll be more characters, with talk of taking characters out) different levels, and different items. The gameplay will essentially remain the same.
It WON'T be taking advantage of the Wii's unique controller. That's kinda the whole reason the Wii exists, you know? The Wii remote. The controller that CAME with the system. Metroid and Mario WILL use the Wii remote, and let us play the games in new ways. They are TRUE Wii games. Brawl would only be a Wii game in that it's on the Wii. Even the Godfather, a port of a PS2 game, would have more "Wiiness" to it than Brawl!
True, Brawl will have other new features, like online play (hopefully), and better graphics, but they could honestly do the game on a Gamecube and it'd play exactly the same.
Don't get the wrong idea, though. I'm looking forward to Brawl, 'cause I know it'll be lots of fun. How do I know that? Melee was a lot of fun. And I also acknowledge that anything could change with Brawl. There's a lot of stuff we don't know about Brawl. I'm just drawing conclusions from what we do know about the game.Stuff can change. Remember when Twilight Princess used the B-button to swint the sword in the Wii version? Hell, remember when Metroid Prime 3 was a launch title? Knowing Nintendo, something is gonna change with the game.
So, really, the main reason I made this post is to let people know that Metroid Prime 3 is going to be awesome, and it's going to be a better "Wii game" than Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
