For you math programming n00bs, "!=" means "not equal to." Therefore the title of this blog post means "Sex doesn't equal entertainment" as far as I'm concerned.

This whole thought came into my head while I was watching Cinematech late one night. It was constantly showing clips from Rumble Roses XX (screenshot to the right) for the Xbox 360. Apparently this is some sort of wrestling game. The wrestling looks pretty fun, but I wouldn't play it. Why? Because the character roster ONLY features sexy women in scant outfits! Normally this would appeal to most guys, right? For me, no. I prefer to keep my sexual thoughts separate from my...uhh...gaming experiences. Maybe I'd be interested in the game if it featured the likes of real wrestlers, or maybe even some shirtless, buff, fictional male wrestlers, but with the way the game is now, I'm not dying to play it.

It's the same thing with fighting games. I absoultely HATE it when the developers have to add "physics" to certain parts of a female character model's anatomy. I think it detracts from the fun. I play games to have fun, not necessarily sexual arrousion. No, I've got other ways to satisfuy that desire, and it's not while playing a game with some friends!

This also holds true for other media of entertainment. Movies, for instance. I seriously hate most rated-R movies because of the unecessary sex scenes! I'm sure there are a lot of good R action movies out there, but they just lose the awesomeness onces I see some boobies. Damn it! If I wanted to watch a sex scene I'd watch a porn! Stop trying to appeal to more than one side of me! Stop mixing my desires!

I guess I could also go off on the whole "degrading to women" thing, but I think it's degrading to men, as well. Obviously, not all guys are into this "sex sells" crap, but that's the stereo-type and I'm met with it 'cause I'm a guy. DUMB.

But back to the skimpy girls in fighting games. Seriously...why do those girls wear such revealing clothing in combat? Wouldn't it make more sense to wear MORE clothing while fighting? You know, armor for protection. I'm also sure those breasts often get in the way. Shouldn't they at least be wearing a sports bra? Motoko from Love Hina had the right idea. She taped those babies down so they wouldn't get in the way of her training! She's smart, and a good model for all anime/video game women.

Samus is also a good model for women. She actually wears a full suit of armor when she goes into battle. Now that's sexy and awesome at the same time.

It was also pretty damn hard to find example pictures for this entry, 'cause I kept running into hentai on Google Image Search! You see, this kinda stuff even disrupts WORK! This is horrible!

Sex is only appealing to my mind under certain romantic circumstances...well, usually. I am a guy, afterall. However, I don't think of sex as simply a means of entertainment. "Sex sells"? More like "sex PHAILS."
