Playstation 3 with a 50GB hard drive: $600
Playstation 3 making a weak attempt to rip off Nintendo: Without price (ha, got you there, huh?)
Today, Sony held their pre-E3 press conference. I didn't actually see it, but I did read the Joystiq article that went over the details as it happened. They showed some videos and stuff. I guess they showed off some nice graphics or something. I didn't get to watch them. But the biggest news was that Sony is ripping off of Xbox Live and the "Wiimote." Oh, Sony, you silly little bizzness. Eff you.
Sony is including motion-sensing technology on the PS3's controller (which is, otherwise, a wireless, silver DualShock 2. No more banana/boomerang). Of course, the PS3's motion-sensing capabilities are far behind from Nintendo's Wii. The PS3's controller is only capable of "6 degrees" of free movement. It doesn't detect where you move it in a 3D space. The Wii's controller does. Nintendo's Wii can detect the movement of the controller, the placement of the controller, the distance of the controller from the system, and the acceleration of the controller's movement. Obviously, the Wii is superior, and Sony probably did a quick, half-ass rip off job.
Sony stole the analog stick.
Sony stole the rumble.
We shouldn't be surprised.
Also, the PS3 is $500-600 (for the 20 GB and the 60 GB HDD, respectively). That's way too much for a game console. I think I'll go Wii and 360. Looks like I'll have to skip out on Metal Gear Solid 4 for now. =[
